Lucy & Dan

Like so many couples Lucy and Dan were set to get married when the pandemic hit and threw everything into chaos. After several postponements and much deliberation, we finally got to see our couple have the celebration they deserved here at Elmbridge Farm! Having chosen to get married with a small legal ceremony earlier in the pandemic, they saved their reception until they could do it in style here in the tipis one year later. What a wonderful way to celebrate, and what a lovely day they had!

The girls began getting ready at home before travelling up to Elmbridge to meet the boys and their guests…

Having already done the formal ceremony, Lucy & Dan didn’t feel the need to have another on this day. But Lucy still got to make her grand entrance as, accompanied by her Dad, she was led along the lakeside by her bridesmaids, over the bridge and up to the tipi where their guests had gathered and Dan was eagerly waiting. Our very own Amy welcomed everyone, proposed a toast to our bride and groom and there was confetti galore out on the terrace! It was also the first time we had seen flambes used at Elmbridge – and they looked amazing!

Guests spent some time out by the lake as our couple grabbed some snaps with their bridal party, family and friends. Our ‘love island’ made the perfect place for photos with the wooden backdrop decorated with sunflowers to match Lucy’s bouquet. As everyone enjoyed some drinks on the terrace, including our couples chosen cocktails (a Sex on the Beach named ‘The Bride’ and an Espresso Martini called ‘The Groom’) Lucy & Dan made the most of our grounds and ventured off to get some stunning shots of the two of them. The tipis were dressed beautifully for an intimate gathering, with simple vases of sunflowers, rustic wooden logs and candles, and pretty green foliage along the top table. The Wedding House styled the venue perfectly, and there were little touches throughout which all added to the charm. It was a lovely relaxed afternoon of food, drinks and speeches (with some tipi-inspired headwear too!) until everyone retired back out to the terrace where there were lawn games, lakeside chatter and plenty of laughter!

The day was completed with music and dancing, and an evening with friends and family which Lucy & Dan truly deserved after such a long and anxious wait for their special day. How fabulous to see them finally celebrate their marriage in style!

Congratulations Lucy & Dan!

We are so pleased you finally got to celebrate your day with us!
